In Croatia, Sajn families are Croats (from Ozalj ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Ozalj and in Janjevo, Kosovo. In Donji Oštri Vrh Ozaljski in Ozalj every fifth inhabitant had the family name Sajn.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Sajn live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in two Croatian counties, threee cities and 5 other places, mostly in Donji Ostri Vrh Ozaljski (10), Zagreb (<5), Police Pirisce (<5), Radatovici (<5), and in Karlovac (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
