In Croatia, Roš families are Croats (from Novi Marof area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Novi Marof area. In Jarek Bisaški in Novi Marof area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Roš.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Roš live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, threee cities and 7 other places, mostly in Sibenik (<10), in Bisag (<10), Breznicki Hum (<5) and Jales Breznicki (<5) in Novi Marof area, and in Zagreb (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
