Rossi families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Pleternica , less frequently Italians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pleternica and Nova Gradiska.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Rossi live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Bukovica in Nova Gradiska area (10), Bajkini in Buje area (10), Resetari in Nova Gradiska area (10), Zagreb (<10), and in Split (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over eighty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
