In Croatia, Rađen families are mainly Serbs, less frequently Croats (from Pula area ), and very rarely Montenegrins (from Sinj ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slavonski Brod and Benkovac. In Zavolje in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every second inhabitant had the family name Rađen.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Rađen live in Croatia today, in 18 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in 7 Croatian counties and 5 other places, mostly in Zagreb (<10), Liznjan in Pula area (<5), Bakar (<5), Rovinj (<5), and in Matijevici in Hrvatska Kostajnica area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1927 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
