Radin families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Porec , also Italians (from Umag ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Umag and Porec. In Bašarinka in Porec every fourth inhabitant had the family name Radin.
Prevalence
About 230 people with faimily name Radin live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 50 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 28 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Porec (20), Brtonigla in Buje area (15), Pula (15), and in Rijeka (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1927 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
