Puhalo families are often Croats and they are mostly from Samobor area , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Koprivnica. In Kalinovica in Samobor area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Puhalo.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Puhalo live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 250 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 14 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Koprivnica (25), Rakov Potok (15), and in Kalinovica (10) and Gornji Stupnik (10) in Samobor area.
