Narančić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Otocac , whereas often Croats (from Novigrad a). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Otocac and Zagreb. In Doljani in Otocac every third inhabitant had the family name Narančić.
Prevalence
About 460 people with faimily name Narančić live in Croatia today, in 210 households. There were 640 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 37 cities and 36 other places, mostly in Zagreb (100), Pridraga in Novigrad Area in Dalmatia (60), Bijelo Brdo in Vinkovci area (45), Rijeka (35), and in Doljani (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
