Murić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia), also Bosniaks (also from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia), very rarely Albanians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Cazin area) and in Lepoglava.
Prevalence
About 270 people with faimily name Murić live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 39 cities and 36 other places, mostly in Komesarac in Slunj area (40), Rijeka (25), Ocura (20), Zagreb (20), and in Lepoglava (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
