About 90 people with faimily name Lukas live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 5 other places, mostly in Kastel Stari (30), Zagreb (15), Split (10), Caglin in Pleternica area (10), and in Karlovac (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over fifty times, the first time 1683 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
