In Croatia, Lopuh families are almost entirely Croats (from Samobor area ), very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Beli Manastir area.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Lopuh live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in four Croatian counties and four other places, mostly in Gornji Stupnik in Samobor area (15), Beli Manastir (<10), Knezevo in Beli Manastir area (<5), Zagreb (<5), and in Rijeka (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
