In Croatia, Leho families are generally Croats (from Peljesac Peninsula ), very rarely Bosniaks (from Middle Bosnia ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on Peljesac Peninsula and in Dubrovnik. In Ston on Peljesac Peninsula every thirtieth inhabitant had the family name Leho.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Leho live in Croatia today, in 12 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in only four naselja i to in Ston on the Peljesac peninsula (10), Zagreb (<10), Mokosica (<5), and in Dubrovnik (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1930 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
