Surname Laco in modern Croatia

Laco families are Croats and they are mostly from Vinkovci area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sinj and in Vinkovci area. In places Žeželovo and Kuliješ in Middle Bosnia every fifth inhabitant had the family name Laco.

Prevalence

About 300 people with faimily name Laco live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled.
They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 25 other places, mostly in Otok in Sinj area (145), Zagreb (45), Stari Mikanovci in Djakovo area (15), Rijeka (10), and in Ivankovo in Vinkovci area (10).

Outside Croatia

At least eight families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to: Canada (5), Germany (1), the United States (1), and to Sweden (1).
