Kusić families are often Croats and they are mostly from Omis area , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Omis area and in Split. In Grabovac in Omis area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Kusić.
Prevalence
About 310 people with faimily name Kusić live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 240 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 25 cities and 30 other places, mostly in Split (110), Zagreb (40), Grabovac in Omis area (20), Imotski (15), and in Osijek (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
