Kušić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Sveti Ivan Zelina , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Ogulin. In Donje Psarjevo in Sveti Ivan Zelina every second inhabitant had the family name Kušić.
Prevalence
About 640 people with faimily name Kušić live in Croatia today, in 270 households. There were 760 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 30 cities and 71 other places, mostly in Zagreb (125), Donje Psarjevo (80), Hum Bistricki in Zlatar area (45), Rijeka (30), and in Ljubescica in Varazdin area (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
