Kuric families are mainly Slovaks and they are mostly from Djakovo area , but often Croats (from Orahovica area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Nasice and in Djakovo area.
Prevalence
About 140 people with faimily name Kuric live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in threee Croatian counties, four cities and 9 other places, mostly in Breznica Nasicka in Nasice area (35), Osijek (30), Jelisavac (20), Nasice (15), and in Zokov Gaj in Orahovica area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1691 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
