Kuprešanin families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from western Bosnia , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Gospic. In Kruškovac in Gospic every second inhabitant had the family name Kuprešanin.
Prevalence
About 140 people with faimily name Kuprešanin live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 240 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 23 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Split (15), Rijeka (<10), Vrbnik in Knin area (<10), and in Medak (<10).
Outside Croatia
At least six families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to: Austria (3), the United States (2), and to Australia (1). Family name Kuprešanin is present in two countries on two continents. The family name "Kupresanin " is used by some 70 people in the United States.
