In Croatia, Kunc families are almost entirely Croats (from Velika Gorica area ), very rarely Slovenes (from Zagreb ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Ivanic-Grad. In Greda in Sisak every seventieth inhabitant had the family name Kunc.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Kunc live in Croatia today, in 19 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in threee Croatian counties, two cities and four other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Gladovec Kravarski in Velika Gorica area (<5), Sesvete (<5), Velika Gorica (<5), and in Gornji Stupnik in Samobor area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
