In Croatia, Krka families are generally Croats (from Sinj area ), barely Slovenes (also from Sinj area ), and . In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sinj area and in Sinj. In Jabuka in Sinj area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Krka.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Krka live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 50 percent. They are located in threee Croatian counties, in 6 cities and another small place , mostly in Split (15), in Jabuka (10) and Trilj (10) in Sinj area, Sinj (<10), and in Zagreb (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
