Jaić families are often Croats and they are mostly from Vrbovca area , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Krizevci. In Lemeš in Krizevci every fourth inhabitant had the family name Jaić.
Prevalence
About 260 people with faimily name Jaić live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 360 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 38 other places, mostly in Zagreb (65), Podjales in Vrbovec area (15), Split (15), Lemes (15), and in Vrbovec (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
