Haler families are Croats and they are mostly from Slatina area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slatina area and in Sisak. In Banje Selo in Sveti Ivan Zelina every seventh inhabitant had the family name Haler.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Haler live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 19 other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Cakovec (<10), Ivanska in Bjelovar area (<10), Pula (<5), and in Staro Stefanje in Cazma area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over fifty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
