Grbin families are Croats and they are mostly from Pula area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and on the Island of Korcula. In Ližnjan in Pula area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Grbin.
Prevalence
About 240 people with faimily name Grbin live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 300 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Liznjan in Pula area (35), Zrnovo on the Island of Korcula (25), Pula (25), Zadar (20), and in Sali on Dugi (Long) Island (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1538 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
