Gojić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina , whereas often Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Novi area) and in Zagreb. In Kola Donja in Banja Luka Region (Bosnia) nearly every inhabitant had the family name Gojić.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Gojić live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 19 other places, mostly in Zagreb (60), Sisak (15), Vukovar (10), Slatina (<10), and in Cacinci in Orahovica area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
