Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Gačina live in Croatia today, in 14 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and 7 other places, mostly in Split (<10), Zadar (<10), Marina in Trogir area (<10), Samobor (<5), and in Krapinske Toplice in Krapina area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
