Fabris families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Pazin area. According to some sources they are from Italy (provincija Veneto) tako da are rarely Italians (Pula). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Dubrovnik. In Kringa in Pazin area every fifth inhabitant had the family name Fabris.
Prevalence
About 400 people with faimily name Fabris live in Croatia today, in 170 households. There were 290 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 20 other places, mostly in Zagreb (60), Pula (45), Korcula on the Island of Korcula (40), Rovinj (40), and in Split (25).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
