In Croatia, Erik families are almost entirely Croats (from Pazin area ), very rarely Montenegrins. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Pazin.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Erik live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in only five Croatian places: in Novaki Motovunski in Pazin area (35), Nova Vas (<5), Zarecje (<5), Lindar (<5), and in Karojba in Pazin area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1933 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
