Buha families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia), rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Drnis and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Sanski Most area). In Velušić in Drnis every sixth inhabitant had the family name Buha.
Prevalence
About 280 people with faimily name Buha live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 30 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Drnis (25), Rijeka (20), Knin (15), and in Split (10).
