In Croatia, Bojkić families are predominantly Croats (from Drnis area ), rarely Bosniaks (from Tuzla Region (Bosnia) ), and very rarely Serbs (from Tuzla Region (Bosnia) ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Drnis area and in Western Bosnia (Tomislavgrad area). In Donje Utore in Drnis area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Bojkić.
Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Bojkić live in Croatia today, in 20 households. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 9 cities and four other places, mostly in Split (20), Zagreb (<10), Kastel Luksic (<10), Knin (<10), and in Labin (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
