Bojčić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Drnis , also Serbs, very rarely Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Drnis and Zagreb. In Trusina in North Herzegovina every ninth inhabitant had the family name Bojčić.
Prevalence
About 420 people with faimily name Bojčić live in Croatia today, in 190 households. There were 360 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 35 cities and 34 other places, mostly in Zagreb (95), Split (75), Ruzic in Drnis area (50), Rijeka (25), and in Drnis (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
