In Croatia, Bejo families are almost entirely Croats (from Kastela area ), barely Macedonians (from Kastel Sucurac ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Kastela area.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Bejo live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are only located in threee Croatian cities and 5 other places, mostly in Split (15), Kastel Stari (15), Radosic in Kastela area (10), Kastel Kambelovac (<10), and in Trogir (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1928 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
