In Croatia, Andić families are predominantly Serbs, less frequently Croats (from Orahovica area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin and Bjelovar.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Andić live in Croatia today, in 13 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, threee cities and four other places, mostly in Kutovi in Orahovica area (<10), Veliki Grdjevac in Grubisno Polje area (<5), Polaca (<5), Virovitica (<5), and in Borovo in Vukovar area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1942 in source Phone Directory of the Independent State of Croatia 1942.
