Brijest is located in the City of Osijek, in Osijek-Baranja County at an elevation of 140 meters above sea level and it covers the area of 4.72 km² (1.82 sq. miles). According to the 2011 census report, there were 1.183 inhabitants. It is predominantly populated by Croats (94%), but also Serbs (4%). Nearby places: Antunovac, Briješće, Osijek, Livana, Ivanovac, Podravlje, Tvrđavica, Tenja, Divoš and Višnjevac.
