Žuljević families are Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Krajina. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Gornji Vakuf area) and in Bosnian Krajina (Sipovo area). In Ždrimci in Middle Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Žuljević.
Prevalence
About 610 people with faimily name Žuljević live in Croatia today, in 260 households. There were 420 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 40 cities and 62 other places, mostly in Zagreb (130), Split (75), Osijek (35), Grab in Sinj area (30), and in Rijeka (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
