Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Žerdin live in Croatia today, in 14 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are only located in threee Croatian cities and 7 other places, mostly in Jurovcak in Mursko Sredisce area (15), Zagreb (10), Draskovec (<10), Sveta Marija in Prelog area (<5), and in Gornja Bistra in Oroslavje area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
