In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on the Island of Korcula and on the Island of Korcula. In Blato on the Island of Korcula every fiftieth inhabitant had the family name Žaknić.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Žaknić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 60 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 6 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Blato on the Island of Korcula (85), Zagreb (15), Split (15), Korcula on the Island of Korcula (10), and in Orebic on the Peljesac peninsula (<10).
