In Croatia, Šundo families are predominantly Bosniaks (from Podrinje (Bosnia) ), rarely Croats (from Pula area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and in Middle Bosnia (Hadzici area). In Jeleč in Podrinje (Bosnia) every sixth inhabitant had the family name Šundo.

Only a few people with faimily name Šundo live in Croatia today, in two households only.
