Štrok families are Croats and they are mostly from Krapina. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Krapina. In Podgora Krapinska in Krapina every third inhabitant had the family name Štrok.
Prevalence
About 400 people with faimily name Štrok live in Croatia today, in 180 households. There were 350 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 26 cities and 44 other places, mostly in Zagreb (130), Podgora Krapinska (45), Sveta Marija in Prelog area (20), Vizovlje in Zabok area (20), and in Krapina (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
