Štok families are Croats and they are mostly from Klanjec. According to some sources they are from Slovenia (Sezana, Pliskovica). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Klanjec.
Prevalence
About 100 people with faimily name Štok live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 14 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Rijeka (<10), Cakovec (<10), Zapresic (<10), and in Icici (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
