In Croatia, Štajcar families are generally Croats (from Petrinja ), very rarely Serbs, and barely Slovenes (from Bakar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sisak and Petrinja.
Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Štajcar live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 50 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 5 other places, mostly in Petrinja (20), Varazdin (<10), Sisak (<10), Velika Gorica (<5), and in Marinbrod (<5).
