Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Šota live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 9 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Vinkovci (15), Vukovar (<10), Bapska (<10), Djakovo (<10), and in Cajkovci in Djakovo area (<10).
