Šoda families are Croats and they are mostly from Trogir area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Trogir area and in Split. In Bristivica in Trogir area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Šoda.
Prevalence
About 240 people with faimily name Šoda live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 17 other places, mostly in Trogir (45), Bristivica in Trogir area (40), Zagreb (25), Split (20), and in Sibenik (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1925 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
