In Croatia, Šibić families are Bosniaks by relative majority (from Bosnian Posavina ), equally Croats (from Varazdin area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanska Gradiska area) and in Varazdin.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Šibić live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number tripled. They are only located in in 6 Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Pula (<10), Rijeka (<10), Petrijanec in Varazdin area (<10), Zagreb (<5), and in Kukuljanovo (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1926 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
