About 40 people with faimily name Šeper live in Croatia today, in 16 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 50 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties and 5 other places, mostly in Sveti Martin Pod Okicem (15), Zagreb (<10), Osijek (<10), Stivica in Nova Gradiska area (<5), and in Klinca Sela in Jastrebarsko area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
