About 30 people with faimily name Šalata live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in four Croatian counties, four cities and four other places, mostly in Zagreb (<10), Bukovec Zelinski (<10), Popovaca in Kutina area (<10), Pozega (<5), and in Zapresic (<5).
