In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Odzak area) and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Kljuc area). In Gornje Ratkovo in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every fourth inhabitant had the family name Šajić.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Šajić live in Croatia today, in 12 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located and threee other Croatian places, mostly in Slavonski Brod (<10), Zagreb (<10), Rijeka (<5), Trnjani in Slavonski Brod area (<5), and in Split (<5).

Family name Šajić (including: Sajic , Sajich and Sayich ) is present in 15 countries on four continents. The family name "Sajic " is used by small number of people in Guatemala , small number in the United States , and small number of people in Germany.
