Surname Đurica in modern Croatia

Đurica families can be both Croats (the family name originates from Knin area ) and Serbs, very rarely Slovaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin area and in Zagreb. In Zečevo in Knin area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Đurica.

About 160 people with faimily name Đurica live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 190 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent.
They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 19 cities and 16 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Rijeka (25), Sibenik (25), Zadar (<10), and in Knin (<10).

Family name Đurica (including: Durica , Djurica , Duritza , Gjurica , Gyurica , Dyurica , Duriza and Gyuritza ) is present in 24 countries worldwide. "Durica " is used by some 3000 people in Slovakia , about 700 in the United States , and some 400 people in Czech Republic. "Duritza " is used by some 100 people in the United States. "Gyurica " is used by small number of people in the United States.
