Đikić families are Croats and they are mostly from western Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Tomislavgrad area) and in Western Bosnia (Livno area). In places Rošnjače and Zaljut in Western Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Đikić.
Prevalence
About 260 people with faimily name Đikić live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 29 cities and 23 other places, mostly in Zagreb (60), Split (55), Kastel Kambelovac (15), Kastel Stari (15), and in Stobrec (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
