Čuk families are Croats and they are mostly from Klanjec area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Klanjec area. In Dubravica in Klanjec area every seventh inhabitant had the family name Čuk.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Čuk live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 430 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Zagreb (75), Sesvete (10), Dubravica in Klanjec area (10), Marinec (10), and in Bobovec Rozganski in Klanjec area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
