In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and on the Island of Krk. In places Jurandvor and Baška on the Island of Krk every ninth inhabitant had the family name Čubranić.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Čubranić live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 190 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Rijeka (45), in Jurandvor (30), Vrbnik (25) and Baska (20) on the Island of Krk, and in Zagreb (15).
Outside Croatia
At least eight families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to the United States (6) and Germany (2). Family name Čubranić (including: Cubranic , Cubranich ) is present in 7 countries on three continents. "Cubranich " is used by small number of people in the United States and small number in Italy.
