In Croatia, Činić families are Croats by relative majority (from Buje ), equally Italians (from Buje area ), and very rarely Bosniaks (from Rovinj area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Rovinj.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Činić live in Croatia today, in 10 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number tripled. They are located in two Croatian counties, threee cities and four other places, mostly in Rovinj (<10), Zagreb (<10), Buje (<10), Bale in Rovinj area (<5), and in Krasica (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
