Čavrak families are Croats and they are mostly from Ogulin area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sisak and in Ogulin area. In Gorinci in Ogulin area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Čavrak.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Čavrak live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 210 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 18 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Mahovo in Sisak area (15), Letovanic in Petrinja area (15), Sisak (10), and in Rijeka (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
